Where: Meraki Market, 140 Kings Hwy E Haddonfield, NJ 08033
What:
The wheel of the year is turning once again to Lammas, which is historically noted as the first of the three harvests. Join us in celebration by making corn dolls, learning about the history of this festival, and how we can celebrate in our modern world!
Corn dolls were said to be home to the "spirit of the grain" or the "spirit of the land," and were made from the husks of the first harvest as a symbol of abundance to last through the winter, until spring when the spirit (corn doll) could be returned to the land for the coming harvest. Today, they are still widely used as a symbol or offering to bring abundance and gratitude into the home, or as cute decor for fall.
your ticket includes:
-
10 minute guided gratitude and reflection session (feel free to bring a journal, paper will be provided if needed!)
-
instruction and supplies needed to create your own corn doll
BYOB. Please arrive a few minutes early to get checked in at the register and settled with your beverage, we cannot wait to see you!
